I prefer the look, I've heard there is a growl because it's next to the cabin intake on the passenger side, and I'm curious haha

This right here. It will work but will have a higher risk of getting the filter wet from rain.

And yes there is a growl from the intake, as well as sometimes a whistle too(depending on throttle position).

Got mine pieced together. Just waiting on an elbow so I can mount it to my homebrew cowl fitting.

Nice, it looks like the fittings are plastic though?

Be sure to let us know. I have a source for the Renix style intake. Just want to be 100% if it will fit on an HO without a lot of mods.
Excellent score! Nothing beats free.

I have no doubt you can make it fit, I've seen your fab skills.
If it's going to require a good bit of modification I'm gonna save my $150 and make my own intake. Im mainly wanting to get rid of the factory air box as to have room for a second battery.

I heard the passenger side ones made a lot more noise than the drivers side. My jeep is so loud already that I can't talk on the phone while driving. The wind and road noise is terrible in these. My bfg all terrains are so loud I'd hate to hear it with mud terrains.

it's probably louder in passenger side cause that's closer to where the cabin draws the air from.

Mine is on the passenger and it honestly isn't bad. I can have a conversation with my passenger no problem, just gets loud when you really beat on it
