you will need the shims if not more with the SYE. with a CV drive shaft your pinon should be pointed straight at the Tcase output.

as far as where to get a SYE. lots of places, I got mine from serious offroad. you can get them from 4wheelparts or rustys pretty much anywhere with jeep parts. If we had some more info on your jeep we could help a lil better. what year, Tcase, auto/manual transmission?

rustys has a kit with a tom woods shaft but its like 500 or something stupid. I'm not 100% on what shafts fit what but Im pretty sure you can run a V8ZJ front shaft in the rear of yours

Yes, because the pinion must point directly at the t-case output when you use a double carden joint.

I've got SYE's and driveshafts on my site.

you can use an xj front drive shaft. unless the zj ones are shorter (but I'm pretty sure they're longer). I would also avoid a custom driveshaft. just big $$ for no reason. worst case take a driveshaft to the local driveline shop and have them retube it.

I like this SYE, have installed 2, and have recommended them to 2 other people who have bought and liked them.
the description (part where they hate on all the other brands) is why I bought it.
