My son just got a 1997 Cherokee. It has a 3" lift. It needs tires, so we might as well do wheels at the same time. What is stock backspacing on these wheels? He's thinking about some 235/75-15's on 15" x 8" (4.5 backspacing) wheels. Pictures of that would be helpful, as well as anything else in that ballpark, as long as cutting the sheet metal isn't a requirement.

 

A 235/75R15 will fit without any issues at all. You could bump up to 30x9.5x15 or even a 31x10.5x15 - but that may need some plastic trimming and extended bumpstops if you want to actually use it offroad.

Stock backspacing is 5.75" if I'm remembering correctly.
