Depends on what type of wheeling/driving you do.

There are no selectable lockers for the C/8.25 so the choice is either a lunch box type locker or a Detroit locker.

just get a spartan and be done with it. but locking your axle's, whether it's automatic, select-able, welded, or spooled, it's gonna wear your tires out faster.

Negative. Detroit's are considered limited slip meaning it only locks when enough of a wheel spin is detected. I believe they are gear based which is one of the slower ones to lock but they do well in both on road and off road.

*edit*
Actually they mention springpack which leads me to believe they are more similar to lunchbox lockers than gear based LSDs like Quaife's.

detroit makes an auto locker too. it locks up when you give it gas and unlocks so you can coast around turns. yes there is more tire wear but who cares. I have a detroit but if I had to buy brand new I'd go yukon grizzly. if they make it. you're thinking of the tru track which is indeed a limited slip. and practically useless when on the rocks

Also, Lock-Rights for the 8.25 are a great option:

I have an '01, 8.25 with an Aussie and really like it.

Mostly a DD, it clicks quite a bit, chirps the tires around the corners and really pushes the Jeep thru the mud - perfect.

Now I want one for the front.
