When installing my 4.5 shortarm lift kit i just did away with both sway bars ( lazyness of not wanting to put them back on lol, and i heard you get more flex without them)
Im not worried about anything to do with how it drives, im worried about when flexing at max something breaking because of short bump stops?
I once read a thread on here about where a guy took his front off and went wheeling and had some major damage to some parts down in that area, just making sure this wont happen to me.
-thanks jonathan

rear just more flex the stock bar is a joke
front you'll get a lot more body roll. i dont have one but i don't drive mine on the street often. In turns the front really leans and if your going to fast you could easily roll.
off road its no different then running disconnects

okay thanks, I have only drove it about 5 miles to a shop near by since ive done all the work to it and I can see what you mean on the body roll, i really felt it turning into the shop, seemed like the jeeps body kind cept wanting to go straight turning in. Ill take thennings advice and get one of those kind of swaybars, i dont wanna roll my jeep without it even beening off road haha.
thanks alot on advice

I have heard a lot of people say that they have taken off the rear sway bar if I was to do it is there anything bad that can happen because it is mainly driven on-road

OK you crazy kids, here is the deal...please stop reposting questions
Rear: The rear sway bar on the XJ is very close to useless. Chances are you will not feel any difference when driving on the road, and the rear will flex a little more offroad. If you never go offroad and/or don't care about the extra flex, don't bother pulling it.
Front: it is advisable (and the law in some places) to have it connected. There is a HUGE difference in flex offroad when they are disconnected. There is also a very noticeable difference on-road with them off. It is not a death trap, but you have to be a little more careful.

I just had to take my front off yesterday because I need a longer track bar huge difference, It is not a stable ride at all I cant wait to put it back it I would advise against taking the front off if your driving on road at all. As far as the rear goes it doesn't seem to make much of a difference at all
