Question What to look for in a 3in lift kit

I know I know "another lift kit question" but i just need to ask... just bought a 2001 xj and wanted to know what to look for in a 3in lift kit. I know for sure in the rear get a kit with a full pack. But what about the front? Should I look for something specific in a kit? Any obvious things I need to keep in mind?

Post a link of the kit your looking at, so we can look it over and see what all comes with it.

I'm sure you'll be happy with that kit. RE is known for making quality kits. Might I also suggest you look into Zone kits, they are reasonably priced and good quality. I just installed my Zone 3" full leaf kit a few weeks back.

One thing to keep in mind is that most of these smaller lifts don't come with an adjustable track bar, which is (IMO) necessary so your axle isn't off-center, and so you don't have to drill an extra hole as some suggest in your axle mount. That's a bandaid/ghetto fix.

It's also advisable to invest in adjustable lower control arms. The more adjustability you have, the more you can dial it in perfectly. Plus, the new arms will be much stronger than the stamped-steel stockers. But really, it comes down to what you want to do with your Jeep. If you are just going for looks mostly and light wheeling, stock control arms will do you fine at 3".

And then there's driveline vibration issues....

I went with a 3" Full leaf pack. At the time of ordering I got a rear 1" extended shackle. Had a bad rake Look..so I went ahead and called them.. they Knew Exactly what I was talking about and sent me a little longer coils then what came with the 3". I love it, was stiff at first but now it's kill

Full leaf deff better than add a leaf. What you need to consider most is are you planning more lift in future ?

No not really. I'm only going to do sand, mud and dry banks to get to some fishing spots.

Thanks you guys for all the info. I'll definitely compare zone to RE and see what comes out
