Hey guys so its time for me to get my lockers and gears for my jeep, im going to call around tomorrow and ask for prices but see who can give me a better deal. Ill call 4wheelparts and see what they can do for me then call www.rwkhaussupply.com and see what he can do for me also...i dont know who else i could call to give me a good deal because i want to order 4.56 or 4.88 (i will make that decision last second) the whole overhaul kits for my dana 30 and dana 44, Rear auto locker (not sure what brand yet most likely detroit or spartan locker) and a open carrier to put it in. My main concern is to what kind of selectable i want to put for the front dana 30.

Do i go with a auburn E locker that is locked and when not locker LSD or do i go with a eaton when its locked its lock and when its not its open.

Im not sure if i am going to use the jeep as a daily driver yet but currently its not (if i sell my main truck the jeep will become a daily driver) and i am pretty sure i want a electric selectable locker for the front and not a auto locker.

Everyone one told me Eaton elect.locker so I found one at 4wheelparts that was open box for a show case at Casino Morongo and got it for $400. Shop around and you'll save!! What state??

 

Th Auburn ECTED uses an electromagnet to create more pressure on the clutch discs. That's all.

The Eaton uses and electromagnet to mechanically lock the axles together. It's a true locker.

my concern about the auburn is that when its not locked its a limited slip, "Full Time Limited Slip When the ECTED is disengaged it acts as a normal limited slip to provide increased performance during normal operation." will it effect my steering if its limited slip while turning?

that i didnt know and its some great info! i would rather have something truly locked rather then some pressure on the LSD clutches to make it seemed "locked"

 

A few years ago one of the guys that went out to Moab with a bunch of us from Colorado had one that was newly installed. It was constantly slipping.

I've been running them for years in my front and rear axles without any problems at all.

I'm in Riverside county. Locker retails for 1100. Brothers in Montclair retails it for 840. I just decided to stop in st 4wheelparts cuz I was close and scored! originally got to brothers

 

Arent all Eaton E-lockers the same?
I know how much lockers run for and i can get a e-locker for around 700, sometimes there are deals going on that people may know about but if your talking about brothers 4x4 i know who they are because i used to wheel with theyre great custer HYE Krawlers a lot but my dad owns a shop out in north hollywood where i do all my work at. sorry im not trying to sound like a dick but im just trying to say it in a nice way
