Ive been runnign 3.07s and an ax15 for a while now with 35x 12.5 mud dawgs. I have never been in another jeep on 35s and the speedo... well, we know that doesnt tell you much. I have no issues with getting up to speed only thing that happens is 5th gear is just a crusing gear you cant go faster even with it pinned to the floor in fifth (which im not out doing regularly). But any way I was extremly impressed how far some stock gears can get you.

I don't get how 4.56 make that possible. Pretty sure I can do that with stock gearing. never had gearing get in my way on the trails.Originally Posted by outkast

Low speed control....crawl ratio is what the point was I guess.Originally Posted by Gatchmo5710

Yup it's all about control and that's why I started the tread ... Didn't guess so many would respond .... I know my stock gears got me where I needed , same as the 4:10's I've just got loaded , they will take me where I wanna go .... But I wanna have as much torque as I can so even at idle I would coast up a low grade incline like 4/12 pitch or somethin.
My deal is I hate mashing on throttle to climb anything .... That's just asking to break somethin .... Keep it low gear and controlled .... Rather break somethin that way than mashing and landing on ur driveshaft or snap an axle ..... Just fonna have to regear again
I'll prob just start all over and do Dana 60 swap front and rear , buddy of mine just rolled his rig bad and is parting it out .... Offered me both axles for 350$

I rarely have to give more than a quarter gas when I jeep. It has plenty of torque. In 4 low it crawls just fine. I tag along all day with Jk's on 38s. Don't see how gearing would give u too much of an advantage. So u idle up the rock and I give a little bit of gas. Big woop.
