What Else to Do When Re-Gearing?
We have a 2000 XJ four door, 4x4. 4" lift, 33" tires. Stock gears (Chrysler 8.25 rear).
Also have a 2001 XJ four door 4x4 with 31" tires and 3" lift, Stock gears front and back (Chrysler 8.25 in rear).
I'm going to have my local 4x4 re-gear to 4.56 (probably) in font and back in the 2000, and re-gear the 2001 (with 31" tires) to 4.11 probably.
While this work is being done are there other upgrades / modifications we should consider while the jeep is in the shop?

uhh besides having a $1600 shop bill? depends on the use of the jeeps. if they are mall crawlers, replace any bad parts you see
if they are for offroad use you can get lockers, stronger axle shafts, upgraded ujoints, seals replaced, heavy duty diff covers. plenty of stuff you can do. what do you think you'll need?

i already had a lockright in my 30 when i did 4.56s so i threw in chromolys, did balljoints, alloy outer axle seals, new hubs, and did new rear wheel bearings and seals.
i think labor and parts ran me 16 or 1700. all parts came from rwkhaussupply.com
i highly recomend him, super fast shipping and great man to deal with. also the cheapest prices you can find....
