Well from what i have been told for the price a mechanical lock is the way to go.

If you got the money go with a selectible locker, Like an arb air locker.

The locker i am going to get is the aussie locker for the chrysler 8.25 rear.

Depends,is your jeep a DD? Full case lockers are ideal as far as strength goes. A Detroit is great and cheaper then an ARB, but ARBs are nice to have since you can flip a switch and be "open" for driving onroad. I don't much care for electric lockers. There is also ratcheting lockers 'I.E' lock-right,aussie, and powertrax. They simply replace the spider gears inside the carrier. Good thing about them is they are simple to install and pretty cheap, downside is they fail more often and make all sorts of noises. Or you could spool it, or Lincoln lock it "weld it". Those are both really cheap and strong if welded correctly. Some of the above options may or may not be available for the axle you plan on locking.

no youre not. LOL They have been "out of stock" since 2009, Id bet money they wont ever stock them again.

Ive got an aussie in the front, and a welded rear. for cost, thats probabaly the best option, it all depends on preference and driver.

If I was building a jeep for my wife, and had alot of money to burn, I'd get selectable lockers...

Best choice would be ARB air lockers, Yukon Zip lockers, OX cable lockers, Eaton e-lockers, outside of those they will not be as strong.

Detroit locker for the rear, about as strong as it gets. Eaton E-Locker for the front strong and simple = dependable.

Someday when I regear this thing I'm gonna run a spool just because they're cheap, really light and unbreakable.
