I just finished up doing an IRO hack n tap and now I have a weird metal on metal scraping noise. Long story short this piece got messed up a bit. Anyone know if this thing should turn with the output shaft or should it stay in place and not turn with the shaft?

Probably shouldn't turn at all.

That's what I was thinking. The end of it got messed up and I think its turning causing the noise.

I posted this in the NM thread but I'll do it here too.

Just pop it off. It's just to protect the seal. Mine went in the trash during my hack-n-tap.

It turns with the output shaft and is there as a slinger to protect the seal. I would recommend that you try to straighten it out so it does not rub on the out put housing. With out it you may have to replace the seal more often.
