Hey y'all,
So roughly a month ago I bought a rough Country winch bumper off Facebook for my xj. It was a good deal and was never used because they guy couldn't mount it on his pathfinder (go figure lol). So I paid for it, and it wasn't until I got home that I realized that the unibody tie ins were cut off partially, so it was only the three stock bolts holding it on. I currently have the bumper mounted with just those bolts, and everything seems to be fine, but I know that if I ever want to run a winch I will need either new tie ins or another solution. I was thinking of getting a buddy of mine who owns a welding shop to weld a hunk of steel to the existing mount that extends to where the tie ins should go, and then weld the whole thing to the unibody. Would this present any problems? Thanks for the info

I have seen that they sell bumper brakets for front bumpers that bolt to the XJ's so you can make one your self a bumper . I would think that you would be able to use this to fix your bumper . it would be better than welding it on .
