i have had 2 welded rearends, both were dana35... the first was in my 88 comanche with 32 bfg m/t it broke after 3 wheeling trips. my current 96 xj that has a welded dana35 with 33 goodyear mtr's and i beat the living crap out of it trying to break the 35 so i can swap in a 8.25 but it wont break. if you have a ford 8.8 your going to be fine as long as your not running massive tires.

An 8.8 will be fine welded. Tho, I'd prefer a mini spool over welding it anyday.

I ran welded in my yotas and my 60 is welded but doesn't see any street time. Not the greatest for everyday driving but I know lots who run them on DDs.

If it sees street, lockers are cheaper than tires.

X2... It is not that fun driving around on the street either. I have seen them come apart... not a good time. I would also go with a locker.
