Welded diff
I was thinking about welding my rear diff on my 94 jeep grand Cherokee. It's also my car that I drive around a couple days a week so I wanted to get some opinions on this my axles are a d35 and d30 and the engine is an inlike 6.

if its not a car you have to drive then itll be okay.
its just a 35, weld it, wheel it, break it, replace it with an 8.8
on a serious note i have a 6cyl and i welded mine back when i was on 31s and it went everywhere i was happy with burning up $6 worth of wire to have a locked rear end

thats legit.
i drive the hell out of mine, alot, everyone on here will say its a bad idea, not saying its good its just alot stronger than what people give it credit. the way i see it if i were to break with it unwelded id be screwed either way, weld away my friend and enjoy the pleasures of going where unlocked rigs cant or struggle. make sure your able to remove the large center pin in your carrier too. i just avoid wheel hop (the best of my ability) while out on the trail and it really has no reason to break, my .02.
in short ive abused my welded rear end and its done nothing but gotten me to point a to b with just a minor squawk and chirp

As long as it isn't used on the street then weld away. Probably the only locker worth putting in a D35 is a lincoln or fozzy locker. Remember not to weld the cross shaft, or you will be sorry...
