i install a weber 2 bbl carb on my 85 cherokee with 2.5 eng , after first started it runs good till you shut it off ,then it wont start back up . the motor turns over and is getting fire and gas . the only way to start it is to hold petal to floor like it is flooded, then in runs ruff till it clears up. any ideas,answers or options would be greatly appreciated i am out of ideas.

 

Is the valve on the top of the carb stuck? If it is just hit it with a hammer till it gets in stuck then check your timming. This is what happened to my fords I6. Hope this helps

i have the same setup and had the same problem. i found out that i needed a fuel pressure regutator. mine was putting out close to 17 psi and i think it called for 3.5 psi.

thanks for the info . where did you in stall it at in the fuel system and are you still using the factory engine mounted fuel pump.

 

On my kids 2.5 we installed a holley fuel preasure regulator where the fuel line runs beside the valve cover. Just cut a section of the steel line out and replaced it with the reg and some soft line on each side.
