whats up everyone, what would you wanna waterproof on any jeep before offroading, and what would you use to waterproof....Thanks!!

use the search function on this forum. this topic gets brought up atleast once a month and its never anything new to waterproofing, so please search it first next time

I've had good luck just doing a home made snorkel, and sealing the distributer and putting a vent tube out of the cap.

Relocate your alternator or no amount of "water proofing" is going to matter

Question RE: w-proofing

ok, so i could make a snorkle..yes, and seal up the distributer with a latex glove?? and what could i use to seal up the ecu, and other electrical connections??

Getting your alternator wet doesn't necessarily spell its doom, it's when you get the mud and crud in there with water while its spinning that'll kill it quick. I've seen some put splash shields underneath but it has to breathe well. If you're set on waterproofing then remove your a/c and mount the alternator closer to the hood.

Remove the AC compressor and replace it with the alternator...
