i wouldn't have just anyone with a welder just jump in and weld the tubes to the cast housing. I used my rinky 110 mig to weld on new perches, no big deal but i wouldn't even bother trying to weld the tubes with it. I'd leave it up to someone who has experience welding with cast before and has an appropriate welder to do so.

Didnt someone bring up the fact that the housing is not cast iron but rather cast steel. cant remember where I saw it but I ran across it.

It's cast steel, not cast iron.

Proper pre and post heating is easy.

Do you know how many 8.8's have been welded with 6011 rod or a 110v welder without any special processes? I promise you its more than 10 or 12....

not doubting any of that or saying thats it extremely difficult or extremely detailed.
i'm just not one just to tell someone "yea just weld it... or just go do it." i'd rather give them some proper info instead of setting them up for possible failure

Will the 9 work in a 99 xj without major mods?

Thanks
