The reason I say that is because the BleepinJeep youtube channel indicated it wasnt necessary until 5 inches. Also, rough country doesnt require the SYE with their kit.

Its preferable. That way you can measure off the flat portions of the yoke.

It varies from jeep to jeep. I have a buddy running 5.5" lift with a 1" t-case drop and no drive line vibration. Another buddy who is at 3.5-4" and required a SYE.

The best possible solution is running a SYE and new driveshaft. Both from a performance standpoint and to ensure you won't be getting any vibrations.

Financially not really a great option for me right now. You buddy runs a 4 inch t-case drop??

I'm trying to start with the cheapest solutions first then work my way up. I can pick up some 2 degree shims at a local hardware store. I'll try to measure the angles first.

Is this a special order item, or will a hardware store carry it?

I bought mine off amazon, although big box stores like home depot or lowes may carry something similar.

Here are a couple options.

Amazon Amazon

No man sometimes it necessary at even 3 inches. And of course they don't because their products are cheap priced and they want people to buy it. If they said here's the kit but you need $400 more dollars for the driveline, you think new guys would buy it? No. I know you said your starting cheap, but the chances are your going to spend all this money on the cheaper options and still have to buy an sye. Oh, and get rid of the 2 inch t case drop man that is absolutely ridiculous and is probably killing your motor mounts right now. If a 2 inch drop didn't fix your vibes, I don't think nothing but an sye will.
