Default Vibrating under load

Hey guys I just installed my sye this weekend and I'm getting vibrations while accelerating. I pulled this kit from my last Jeep to put in my new Jeep. The rear driveshaft is from Tom Woods and has maybe 5,000 miles on it. I checked for anything loose but everything seems to be on tight. I'm going to pull the driveshafts this weekend to see if I can pinpoint it down to either one but it feels like it's coming from the rear. I shimmed the rear axle when I installed the sye btw. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

Make sure everything is tight, u joints, pinion yoke, etc.

If it all checks out, have the DS balanced.

Are you sure it is a driveline vibration?

I'm pretty sure it's driveline related. I can put it in neutral while moving and rev it without the vibration changing. It gets louder and vibrates more as I increase speed. When coasting it quiets/smooths down quite a bit but I can still feel it.

I'll go ahead and double check that everything is tightened

Had the same issue after SYE and resolved it with shims to improve the angle.

I shimmed the rear axle last night but it didn't change the vibrations.

Alright so I checked and everything is tight. I took off the rear driveshaft, put it in 4wd, and drove it down my driveway and back... no noise or vibrations.

So I'm guessing something on the rear driveshaft is making the noise/vibrations.
I spun around the double cardan joint by hand it made a clicking sound. I'm now thinking that the centering yoke needs to be replaced.

Here's a link to the part that I'm talking about.

Any take on this?

Shim could have cracked behind the pinion yolk, take a look.

I would also check the u joints. This was the problem on mine and I couldn't tell they were shot til I took them out. I even took a prybar to them to check for play but they were solid.

The noise/vibration sounds like it's coming from around the transfercase. I don't think pinion yoke shim is cracked since it didn't have this problem before I put the sye in. As soon as I installed the sye and driveshaft I started to have the problem. I also took this sye and driveshaft out of my old jeep to install in this one so the parts have been used before.

Whats your pinion angle and whats your driveshaft angle? Just because you shimmed it, doesnt mean you shimmed it right.

I'll have to check the angles when I get home from work. Visually they look good but I know you can't go off of that

The axle and driveshaft are within a few degrees of each other.

I did find out why it's been vibrating though. I replaced the centering yoke on the rear driveshaft which turns out was very worn out. Put it back together with a rebuild kit and drives smooooth now.

Thanks for your alls help!

Kleiner-How hard/long was the repair job? I may have the same problem. I will remove my rear driveshaft this weekend and check like you did. Good idea!
