1990 cherokee, Just got some brand new upper and lower control arms I planned on installing this weekend from my research looks like there’s a nut on the control arm frame side and an access hole in the wheel well to take the bolt out of it. Well…. I see the nut but there’s no access hole for the bolt so I’m not sure how I’m supposed to get the bolt/stud out after taking the nut off, Maybe the previous owner put frame stiffeners right here that covered the access hole? And any tips on how to go about this or cutting out another access hole will be appreciated. What a pain
Better yet, if you plan on retaining the factory upper control arms location - take some paper material and make a template from another XJ frame and simply cut the relief hole back into your plated frame
I said I’d update so here y’all go I used a overly expensive step bit with some cutting oil and was able to get it done without removing too much material, worked well but yeah probably more efficient if you have a plasma cutter or something. I’ll make sure to paint that bare metal
