Default Upgraded power steering?

I know how to use the search function but couldn't find what I was looking for.

98 Cherokee limited.

I already have the heavy duty bars etc......

Problem. I have 33inx12.5, and I cant turn on asphalt when stopped, even when going through trails it struggles to turn.

Question: what's the best high output pump kit for the money? or just buy a new oem pump, pretty sure its just going out. if I do the upgrade do I need a new reservoir lines etc.....

thanks, any extra info is appreciated.

Depends, if you're going to stay at 33's then I would get a new stock pump and upgrade to a psc box. If you're going 35+ in the future, may want to look into hydro assist. Regardless, if the pump is in good shape, you should be able to turn just fine on 33's

Hydro assist is about turning larger tires. If you need more turning pressure for trails and snow wheeling hydro assist is a good way to go, because it not only makes it easier to turn, it also helps relieve pressure on the steering gear box, and other steering components.

So, I'm not sure what the reference to a Dana 30 axle is about, hydro assist will work on any steering axle.

I did it, was only a change bc my stock parts blew up due to age/ wear. Stock parts felt better IMHO and I had SO many problems with the wj ps resi. My buddy did it to his and didn't notice a difference on 35s.

An upgrade would be a YJ box and a smaller ps pump pulley

tire size on a d30 wont get big enough to require hydro assist...
