Upgraded injectors leaking
01 sport
I put in some new style Bosch single hole injectors. These are the newer single hole style with a different orifice inside that are suppose to atomize better than the 4 hole style.
When I installed them, I noticed that you can't run the stock clips. The little beveled area the clips ride in don't line up.
So I've been driving for a month or so with these in. I smelled some gas pulling into the gas station, popped the hood and number 1 was giving a tiny little spray from the manifold side. I gave it a slight turn, it stopped. That was a week ago. Pulled into car wash today. Same symptom. Turned it the other way, leak got worse. Turned it nearly a 1/4 turn and it stopped but I'm realizing this isn't a permanent fix.
Any ideas? Maybe clean the manifold and rail and try to reseat? Any seating tips?
Thanks guys

I recently swapped mine and I used Q-Tips and rubbing alcohol to clean the manifold/seat area. The cotton fibers will trap carbon/crud very well and better prevent any of it from falling in the ports. You can try and see if it helps...
Could be the o-rings are not the correct size.
What is the part # of the injectors you purchased?

Whether it's damaged/incorrect size o-rings or dirty seats in the manifold, IDK.
Did you apply petroleum jelly to the o-rings when you installed them?

I'll try the petroleum jelly. I guess I'm just gonna pull the whole rail and try again.
Just for future reference, do the 4-hole injectors use clip nuts? If the jelly doesn't work, I'll prolly just buy a set of 4 holes if they do use clip nuts

Yes the 784's will re-use the stock clip nuts.
You may have damaged the o-rings upon installation due to no lubricant. All it takes it a very small amount and avoid the pintle itself.
Here is a write-up from CF member dukie564 if you want a reference. It's well written and easy to understand. The only step I didn't follow was the manifold seat/port area. I used Q-Tips and rubbing alcohol instead of a thin blade screwdriver.
Let us know how things turn out.

Upgraded injectors leaking
Pulled the rail yesterday. Cleaned everything up really well, replaced the o rings on the leaky injector and all is well for the time being. It took about 2 months for them to leak the first time. Fingers crossed
