upgrade dana35?
well i got the dana 35 with posi trac,and i was wonderin if it would be cheaper to just replace the axle shafts and what not or just buyin a C8.25?

just make sure you get one from a 97+ so its a 29 spline

i would replace it with an 8.25 or a d44. dana 35's have an awful proven track record (i wont get into that now, you can search the interwebs and find plenty of d35 hate threads yourself)

I found my 8.25 this way. I payed 200.00. I got it from a 4cyl. XJ because it had the 4.10 gear ratio that I wanted. My 97 had the dana 35 and a SYE running a 4.5" lift so I had to use a front driveshaft to get the correct length because the 8.25 is a little closer to the transfer case yoke than the 35. Your not running a lift so I am not sure if you will need to change driveshafts or not. hope this helps.

All the junkyards where I live ask 250 to 300 for an 8.25. and 400 for 8.8's. So I was happy to pay the 200 for an already regeared axle.
