Default U joints

OK so here is the deal. I am doing a SYE next week along with many other modifications that Im going to keep hush hush as a suprise

Anyways I am going to be running a front drive shaft in the rear along with my new ax.... oops..... anyways I am grabbing a front Drive Shaft from a junk yard saturday and want to rebuild it with strong joints. Anybody have any good ideas or recomend what joints I should get to make a good shaft? anywho let me know.

Factory puts them in for a reason. They aren't made in some far off land like the parts store ones. And they are quite strong.

I got one of those in the garage I took out of my brother's heep, always wondered what brand it was. I couldn't remember who made the offset ones.

Have you grabbed a new box for one lately? They say cross shaft made in china, assembled in USA. Kinda depressing how everything is being outsourced.

They look nice havent installed my rear tom wooods shaft that has these yet.

According to the box my last ones came in they are made in the USA.

I've got the Spicer Universals products on front drive shaft including lubricatable ball in the double cardigan and Spicer Slinger. On the front axle ends and the rear drive shaft I use Precison Brand Super Strenght, also made in USA by Federal Mogul. I have given up on too many pooched Delco universals, running in same conditions with regular lube and they don't last, made way way in the south and not cheaper to buy retail. Spicer and Precision work for me.

Hmmm maybe only certant sizes are that way then. I went in and asked my local driveshaft builder who is a spicer dealer about a 1310 series and he was out. Said he was upset and showed me a stack of spicer boxes that said cross shaft made in china. Didnt catch the series joint though
