I've had a supercharger car. After dealing w turbo stuff I'd rather go turbo. boost is built on load, not rpm. couple an inline motor with a small turbo and you'd have tons of tq by 1500 rpm, only growing beyond that.
Today alot of turboed vehicles use water cooled housings oil coking is not near what it used to be. I had turbo timers on my cars and I do not shut down my diesels untill the EGTs are at 3-400 degrees.
oil less turbos are very common today.

Wow....ANOTHER turbo thread?
Find the search button. Type in "turbo" and click search....
This has been covered over and over and over.
And 99% of the discussions end crappily. Too much misinformation, too many assumptions made by folks that haven't done anything like it, and too many butt hurt members posted when their feelers get hurt.

For the life of me I just cant understand how effective a turbo would be for crawling, building boost and breaking parts would suck.
Trying to make a brick go fast is expensive.

Depends on how its done.
A hybrid turbo would be best.
Large hotside with a HUGE wastegate. Medium compressor side for quick spool.
Its a 4.0 i6, you dont need huge boost numbers, and you'll get plenty of boost at low RPMs.
