..ok well this is true for the same price. You could stroke your engine from a 4.0 to a 4.7 L..read into strokeing..if undone turbos b4 strokeing can be a breeze.

 

I dont think power should be a issuie. Its all in how you use it. A stock XJ has enough power to get you in laces you dont belong. If you need more HP then that must mean your are running Huge tire? If you are running that big of tires then you are goning to need upgraded axels. ITs a tumble affect. And alot of $$$$ What is your current syspension set up?

 

i agree with this(edit)>UsmclovesXJ plus if u REALLY wanted to, after u go through and stroke the motor out, you can still put a turbo, or better yet a supercharger on it

GRIP, Instead of thinking you know what other people's experience level's are, maybe you shouldn't come to the conversation saying it is bad information. I'm not going to go into what I've done or anything like that, I'll let you "SEARCH" for that one. There is not one piece of inconsistent information that everyone in this thread has given nopi in his quest for a turbo.

There's no point in turbo'ing an XJ unless you're going for a Jeepspeed or street Jeep type build. You'll only get boost at high RPMs and you almost never rev high while wheeling unless you're looking to flip or crash your Jeep.

If you're still dedicated to a forced induction XJ, Get a supercharger. Boost at all RPMs. You can't do any of this without building the rest of the engine up though. You'll blow it if you don't.

 

what gears fit in my xj and by the way its manual tranny...suspension set up is stock still bought two weeks a go rebuilt engine and started it up on sunday...

 

Well you can fit a large range of gears... lol. So you have the Ax-15. What axles do you have and what size tires are you planning on running?

 

Since there is so much wrong, how about you offer some insight instead of trying to tell all of us we have no actual experience when you dont even know us or what we have or havent done the OP asked a question we have been trying to offer him some insight from which we know

I don't wanna see anyone else cry and whine about someone saying they have no experience with turbos until someone is posting videos of the awesome power of their turbo charged xj throwing some 30 foot roost. If you haven't done it, then you don't have that experience and you're beating a dead horse. I'm gonna go get the back hoe so we can get it buried, ya'll leave that poor animal alone while I'm gone, ya hear?

 

Not true. Its all in what Turbo you use and what supporting hardware you use.
