Default Truning around rear springs

Has anyone ever done that flipping the rear springs around to gain wheel base by my rough measurements it will push the axel back about 6.750" which is more than I would like but I a trying to get away from buying a set of mj lift springs witch would give me the 3 to 4" that I would like

Due to the way xj springs are constructed, turned leafs will fatigue quickly and also be more subject to axle wrap. Research it, it's out there.

Seen it done many times and yes they will wear out quicker and you have to comp cut the rear. Some use YJ springs which give a slightly less 3" stretch. I've done a 1.5" and haven't cut any more fender than the cut and fold and my axle is actually centered but my shackle angel is also a bit off.

I assume it is the rear yj springs that I need to use. I am running 5.5in lift now what size yj lift spring if any would you guys think i need since yjs are sprung under and just under 3ins wheel base gain is perfect I should not have to move or relocate my fuel tank

Stock rears would work but you could hit the tank. My 60 misses it by less than half an inch and I'm at a 1.5" stretch.

could get ranger leafs 4" further back but require a set of relocation brackets.

38s and my (homebuilt) axle brakets have multiple mounting positions.
