I'm going to adjust it to 0.010" backlash, recheck the gear pattern and if it's not close I'll set get to work on replacing the pinion bearings and shims. Thanks!

There are trains 9f thought on proper backlash for longevity.

Some like tighter others say larger gap allows more oil cushion between ring and pinion gear.

I personally dontbthink it matters much as long as backlast isnt sloppy and gears are meshing well.

Thanks again! I got the differential back together. It was much much easier after I pulled the axle from the Jeep and put it on stands.
