Default Truetrac deal....

So I found a used Dana 30 detroit truetrac for $150, guy says its in good shape and reading on the interent they don't have parts to wear out so !!! Its online so its sight unseen.

This comes at a good time because my new ring and pinion just showed up this AM and because its a 4.10 I need a new carrier, the truetrac solves this problem and kills two birds with one stone.

It was either a true trac or a expensive selectable locker, I aint got the $$$ for that kind of upgrade so I'm truely STOKED This is my hunting rig and with a 8.8 LSD in the back and a Trutrac in the front it should get me to where I need to go.! And won't be too unmanagable in the snow!

that just means they don't have clutch discs to worry about. everything wears out at some point.

It also comes in two sizes for 3.54 & down gear ratios and 3.73 & up gear ratios, make sure its the right one!

Plus I don't have to buy a carrier to work with my 4.10's which is overt $100 after taxes and shipping.

Now here's hoping the deal goes through smoothly, nothings for certain until its in your hands!!!

Over 40 positive reviews and only 1 negative one. Maybe not the best for rock crawling and your always pulling wheels off the groud but for anything where a 4 are in contact with something everyone seems to like them!!!

Whats your specific complaint?

Use mine in my Titan that I drag race every other week or so. They work great and put up with over 90k abused *** miles on my decently modded truck. My before/after times say different.

With brake pressure a tru trac locks up pretty well. Not for rock crawling. But who rock crawls? LOL

I watched a crawler/trail rig with front and rear tru tracs go everywhere the spooled rigs went.

i dont like the fact that if you lift a tire the lifted tire spins uselessly and the tire w/ traction does nothing. i sold both of mine & went to a detriot in the rear & a arb front, total real 4 wheel drive. back then i was into lots of red trail rock crawling ,i quess a tru trac has its value for lighter duty use. but i stiil wont ever use one again.

A Detroit Tru-Trac is the best LSD that I know of, it isn't a locker, but it will increase the strength of your axle by reducing gear deflection and for that price you'll be saving 350-400 bucks, good all around deal.

Sounds like your getting a good deal to me. You can always swap it out later if it wont work on the trails you go.
