Cool Transmision leak (bell housing)

Hello folks
I have a ZJ grand Cherokee 215000 miles and I have a leak at the front of the trany. It is leaking out the bell housing.I sepect the front seal.
My queastion.I am leery about sealing fluids because I feel they may gum up all small moving part in the trany. Is there a fluid that I can add to slow or stop the leak that is safe to add till I can fix it? It leaks about A quart every 1000 miles.
more annoying then any thing else.
Thank you, great forum!

I use Lucas trans fix, it's a short term answer for a long term problem. It helped in my ram with 350000 on it.

Thank you. Any thing is a help.
When I do repair it should I flush the trany in some way?

That depends if it has been serviced regularly. If not I wouldn't flush unless you tear it down. You run the risk of sending crap into the valve body.

If your pulling the trans grab a new torque converter while your at it. They have a tendancy to have vanes break when they get older and get less efficient.

Reminds me of a buddy of mine. He thought his front seal blew cause he had tranny fluid under the entire truck. (that stuffs a great cleaner by the way everything looked new under a 94) Pulled the tranny turned out the front seal was good his torque converter was cracked.
