your best bet would to find a Cherokee around the same year as yours and pull the pedal assembly out along with the clutch master cylinder. there should be a knock out on the fire wall to mount the clutch master cylinder, it will be between the drivers fender and the brake booster.

As I recall I had to drill holes in firewall to mount the clutch master but other than that the pedal assembly is a bolt up. Also trans mount is positioned different. Need one from stick.

Here's a question I'm going to ask for you since I'm curious and I don't know the answer.

Your XJ is going to have a module under dash by the passenger side for the auto trans.

If going to manual does Jeepinjesse89 just leave the module or unplug it and leave it out. I would assume unplug it and leave it out or does it matter?

My 89 was auto but when I rebuilt with stick I also put in new harness which came from the donor stick XJ and it didn't even have the plug for that module.

I just did this using a 91 as a donor, going into a '94.
I swapped over the whole pedal bucket.
There is a bracket that attatches to the pedal bucket, has a stud that goes through the fire wall and is used to mount the clutch master cylinder.
There are 3 dimples in a row running up and down to the right of the brake booster, those are where you make holes for the master cyl.

Do you have the whole pedal assembly or just a clutch pedal by itself?
