I ordered some 'Upgrade 4-hole injectors from Ebay. They claimed they were compatable with my '91 4.0 Liter.
The numbers don't jive with anything I've seen on here. They are numbered 028015 on one side and 9186340 on the other side.
Will these work as well as the '703's or should I send them back? I haven't installed them yet.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I didn't find either number in any searches.

I can't help with your question. But, I would like to make the recommendation of checkingb out the buy, sell, trade section. Lots of great stuff. There is a member thatv sells injectors. I bought mine bfrom him and love them. Better then dealing with eBay. Perhaps send him a pm

I agree that way you get Chrysler injectors that have cleaned and rebuilt as good as new, I used them in mine.

Are you sure that is the full side number?

There should be more numbers 0280155XXX?

If you look on ebay there are a thousand different people selling a thousand different injectors and claiming they will all fit on Jeeps. Will they fit, yes, are they the right injectors, most of the time not.

The following is pretty much what most go by when replacing Jeep injectors.

87-90 4.0 - Bosch 0280155746, from Volvo's.

91-98 4.0 - Bosch 0280155703 from late 90's dodge Neons and few others. Some people use Bosch 0280155710/0280155700, From old Ford V-8's if I remember correctly.

99-04 4.0 - Bosch 0280155784 from late 90'sand early 2000 Dodges Neons as well.

The 703 and 784 have a different plug, same injector.

Hope this helps you.

You are correct, sir. The numbers are 0280155831 and 9186340.
Googling the first number produces:
Volvo Fuel Injector (C70 S60 S70 V70 XC70 S80 XC90) - Bosch 9186340

AND Volvo 98-09 Volvo 2.4 2.5

Thanks

Here are the stock specs for XJ's.
http://www.jeep4.0performance.4mg.com/tech_specs.html

Here are flow rates by Bosch #, scroll down to number needed.
http://www.fuelinjector.citymaker.co...low_Rates.html

Flow rate, resistance, and connector generation all factor into whether your purchase will work. I looked briefly at the 831's you bought and numbers seem out of line, but look into further. Google Foo says use Bosch and part# will get lots of results to buy or research.

Thanks! Thats VERY informative! Going to try and find the seller on this forum and go that route. Then try to deal with the Ebay seller to return/exchange these. Your links may give me some ammo to help with the Ebay seller.

Post #4 that's your guy, good seller. I've dealt with him on two occasions got the right parts cleaned tested and fast both times. Good communication also.

So... same thing over in this corner. I ordered some "UPGRADE JEEP 4.0L BOSCH TYPE III FUEL INJECTORS SET 6 30LB EV1 4 holes" eBay injectors. Later I realized that they are 831 injectors, not the coveted 703.

Oh well.

I put them in, and honestly everything seems fine. Runs good, starts easy enough, lots more rev in the pedal, gets up to 65 MPH as good as it ever did. Throttle response seems to be the only change. Will keep an eye of fuel economy, which wasn't great before..

For what I paid, it seems to be running pretty good. Apparently they are off a Volvo? Whatever. They're on a Cherokee now!

That's what I did when I built my old XJs stroker. I used Ford 5.4L V8 injectors (4.6L will work as well) for their spray pattern.
