Will a XJ trans fit and work in a 98 ish ZJ ? My friends trans is going out and he found a XJ trans with a 231 t case with it for $200 with low miles, thanks

ZJs use the 42re, while the XJ uses the AW4. so no, an XJ trans will not swap into a ZJ
