Hi all, brand new here and I've enjoyed looking around the site but now I need some guidance. I have an '88 Cherokee with a 5speed manual tranny and a '90 Cherokee with an automatic and I'm wondering how hard it is to swap these two trannys if it's at all possible. Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated.

 

Have you searched? Which way do you want to go? auto to manual or manual to auto? Converting an auto to manual is easier. I would check to make sure what manual trans you have cause the ba15 is junk

 

Actually what I'm hoping to do is a straight swap, putting the auto from the '90 into the '88 and the manual from the '88 into the '90. I tried to search on this site but I guess my keywords don't match. I'm also living at my moms place until work starts again and there is no Internet here (on the farm) so I have to do everything on the iPhone.
