Default track bar issue! help!!

the factory track bar hole on the axle itself was drilled to a bigger size by the pervious owner. would I be able to drill a smaller hole next to it so I can go back to the factory bolt size with my new jks trac bar? I cant see that having a negative effect on the way it drives but maybe there is something im missing here. so should I drill a new hole or weld a washer In so I can use a smaller bolt? trying to avoid welding if possible

You can drill a new hole. Welding washers over the stock hole probably would be better, but if you don't have access to a welder drill away.

yea I don't own a welder and I don't know how to weld anyways. I just want to make sure its not going to make anything feel weird, throw anything off or wobble while im doing 70 on the highway

Do you have an adjustable track bar? As long as you properly adjust it and drill a good hole, you should be fine.

some will say don't drill a different hole, or if you do at least reinforce by welding some plating around old hole. as said, if you've got an adj. bar be careful not to move it so far that it will be too long. measure twice, cut once as they say.. good luck

Yes you can. Won't hurt a thing. Being tight is the most important factor. I would drill it lower than the existing hole. This will give it more support, and make up for the difference you are moving it to the right.

I went with a Rubicon Express track bar and bracket, the track bar mounting hole was larger [ 1/2 inch I think ] so I drilled my axle mounting hole out. I really like the idea of having the larger, stronger bolt holding my axle in place seeing that I'm running 35s with a locker in the front.
