Here is my question to all you cherokee brains. I put a 3" RC lift on my 87 xj and have 30/9.5 on it. Changed front coils all shocks and add a leaf in rear, I also installed an adjustable trac bar. Here is where I am going with this. After my friend who owns a shop I have worked at part time did the alignment, just toe in on his alignment rack. But have a bad rubbing problem on a hard left but nothing on a hard right. When he did the alignment he showed me on the machine how it said the front diff was to far to the right and did not know how to adjust it.
So my question is how do you adjust the trac bar to get the front diff centered and will this change my toe setting? The toe is good and has been set so my nice bfg a/t stop wearing on the outside.
Also I set the trac bar by measuring the front diff from ground to bottom of diff on both sides to within an 1/8 inch.

Adjusting track bar should not affect the alignment.
Easiest way is, loosen jam nut on frame side TRE/heim. Figure out which way you need to go, Remove axle side bolt. Bounce the front end a bit. Check how much hole is off when you slide TB in. Twist the track bar whichever way you need to go (lengthen/shorten) and bolt it back up. Measure difference on each side for how far tires are in comparison to fenders. Then tighten jam nut back up.

 

take the track bar off at the end that adjust turn the ignition key to thr run position turn the steering wheel the body of xj will move back and forth over axle center it over axle and adjust the length of trac bar to fit reinstall it you done this will not affect the alingment

 

adjusting the track bar will not affect the toe but will throw off the steering wheel, that can be adjusted after your done on the drag link.

to set the track bar measure between the frame and the tire adjust the track bar so they are the same.
