Too much rear down travel for hi lift
Well I'm curious what some of you are doing to get the rear tires off the ground when using a hi lift off road. My rear has so much travel now i need a way to keep the axle from moving down. I can chain my front up with ease to keep it steady while lifting but the rear I'm stumped with how to go about it. Any ideas?

highlift makes a strap that fastens around your axle and connect to the body to limit your down travel so you can lift the tires off the ground.

I was thinking of using the sway bar mounting location on the frame to bolt something in so that i can run a chain through it.

Not a bad idea never thought about that. Doing that through a d ring on the bumper or receiver would do the job. Will try that this weekend see how it works for me.

30" of 5/16s chain with hooks on both ends, wrap one end around axle under brake line hook other end to the Cherokee body. I use 30" on my rig you may need more or less for your lift.

I have a JCR gas tank skid plate, and that is where I attach the chain. If you don't have a skid plate, look around I've found places to do this on almost every 4x4 I've owned.
That would probably work fine, I've seen a u-bolt welded to the axle and the frame on a truggy and it worked great. I just had the chain left over from setting up my trailers safety chains, so it was just easier than using straps for me.
