I have a 97 with iro 3 link in the front and shocks arnt long enough to let it drop to it's full potential but it also fully compresses and shocks bottom out before it tucks into front fenders. Its the same in the rear I have rustys 6 inch springs with the 3rd leaf removed and I made boomerang shackles it drops out but stops from shock and they bottom out before tires hit. Has anyone notched the floors and made new mounts inside to allow longer shocks ??

 

It's about 2 inches before it hits body front and rear so I still have room to go up and it will drop a lot farther in the rear without shocks

 

are your front springs unseating already? it looks like its articulating pretty good already.

 

Ill try and find the company but there is a rear shock relocation bracket, it bolts in and moves the upper shock mount in towards center. so instead of runing vertical the tops point in towards each other. and they are adjustable.
youll get a lot more effective travel like that, since the shock wont have to actually travel as far for the axle to move the same amount.
what shocks are on the front now? even with my crappy rustys ones they will tuck the tire in the fender and drop the spring right down to the bumpstop.
you can go longer travel though and move the mounts up into the body.

 

yeah man, at some point you have to start limiting uptravel. That's why I didn't cut out my flares... Otherwise I think you are on track for what's needed. You need more room if you want more room... Looks awesome btw...

 

Yea springs are unseated and can drop about 1/2 inch before they fall out but I'd like more up travel I can squeeze prolly 2-3 more inchs up front and rear

JKS makes the rear shock relocation mount. Works great! Just make your own though!!

 

I welded in a tube so far this is what I got I'll cut holes in the floor for shocks to run through and brace it and build a box around it to keep dirt and dust out.

 

if you are going to rely on the wheel well to cupport them you should weld a square plate to the well first to spread the load then the tube. should work great though.
get it done so i can come up in a couple weeks and we can put them through their paces

 

Lol yea I plan on runing braces down on both sides triangling it wit the floor and sheet metal over it. Should be done this weekend and measure for shocks

I took a rubber floor mat and covered the hole I'm going to make a piece of sheet metal to cover it and the carpet is back in it's not bad at all lol

 

 

That's sic a bit more modified than I wanna make this until I get a new dd. Well I tested it out and now I'm gonna have to trim the rear quarter panel tires hit now but def have lots more up travel
