Bc these are a cheap way to give your wheels better clearance and give it a different look. I'd love to get some bushwackers but I don't have the cash to just throw on some flares.

ya and how much do those go for? $400? and when you break them on a tree your screwed. TJ flares are cheap as hell, you can find them everywhere, and when you hit them up against a tree they just bend, they dont crack or break.

I'm in $20 for my 4 TJ flares, in my book you can't beat that. It may not look the prettiest but it gets the job done.

When you send us each $400 for those wonderful "other" flares, I will consider buying them. I put TJ flares on my Jeep because I think bushwakers cost way too much & are overkill. Make 33" tires look tiny. We use them not because we want to copy the TJ - trust me, I can't stand TJs. But I am practical. Flares are required in Jersey. They actually don't look much different from stock 97+ flares. Copying a Wrangler is taking your doors off the XJ, or chopping the back of an XJ. Yeah, I said it. Putting round headlights in an XJ is copying a TJ. Using the flares is simply good sense.

Can't say for sure, about 4", and flares from a Sahara TJ are even wider by 1". That's what I have on the front of mine.

What did you use to cut the rear fenders so that they attach to you're door and the fender on the rear?

Most people drill into the body, but I used 3M molding tape in the rear. They have been on my XJ for 4 or 5 years & haven't budged except I had to take them off to add the armor. It was a royal pain getting them off ...

The fronts are bolted on.

And to answer this question that was posted 15 months ago (that I missed): yes I modified the flares. I took a large chunk out of the center of the rear flares & cut about the same amount from the fronts. They only look longer because I let them extend to the lower body line.

What did you use to cut the flare in half tho so that you could put half on the door on half on the fender?
