Default WHICH TIRES?

I have a unmolested 2001 cherokee classic, just ordered a cheepo 2" lift kit with shocks (spacers front & shackles rear) what tire would you guys recommend? mainly onroad with some mild offroad planned, goal is to keep good ride quality without tire rubs, what size, brand etc, advise needed, price is a factor, have a set of 15x31x10.5 wheels & tires, but 16"x27' factory wheels/tires on it now, thanks riper1

personal preference... granted it does depend on what kinda driving your doing. my driving is pretty similar that i do enjoy some mild to mof=derate wheeling when and where i can... i have the wrangler dura trac. it is a 10 ply tire (vs. the usual 3 or 4 ply) so it is a pretty rugged tire. also it is pretty quiet on road. the bennifits are that it does really well in snow (this winter was a great test) and they handle mud and rocks well. they are not a true mud tire, so there is a small sacrifice there, but if your not bombing thru the **** all weekend then a more versatile tire is prob what you want.. the dura's 10 ply gives you good protection from random sharp objects better than a 3 or 4. they have plenty of siping for the snow but still some good open lugs for throwin mud. idk. i have the 235/75r15 variety and no lift (aside from 2" BB) and there was a point this winter when i was literally snow plowing and those tires were the only thing keepin me movin! ive put about 10K on them and i keep my set up well balanced/rotated and inflated (+/-35psi when on pavement) and there is little to no ware at thins point. not to say im gentle on the tires, though so yea, that my .02...

30 x 9.5's may rub slightly on your lower arms. 31 x 10.5's will rub. It's usually said that for 31's you need a 3" lift.

My 30 x 9.5's rubbed slightly, until I fitted WJ lower arms. 31's can be made to not rub by adjusting the steering stops. You lose a little bit of turn radius by doing that though.

Everyone's Jeep is slighty different though, it might pay to fit the 31's you've got and see what issues crop up.

No rubbing? You must not flex at all. I'm sitting at 3" and I rub like crazy when I wheel. Not just the front and rears of the fenders, at the top too. I can post pictures when I get some to show you. You will need to trim quite a bit sitting stock to fit 31's if you wheel.
