Default Tire Size for 15x10 Rims

I have an opportunity to get some brand-new ProComp rims for free. Rim size 15x10. Backspacing is listed as 3.75". I have a 3" lift, currently running stock rims on appx 28" tires. My plan is to go with 31" tires. I currently get just a touch of contact between the tires and LCAs when turned to the the steering stops.

Most of what I'm reading says 8" wide rims are best.

How does the 10" wide rim effect my choice of tires?

Thanks!

I would just sell them...You can get a set of 4 15x8 for $160 shipped.

You can go up to any height you wish to, it's the width and a 31" tire is usually a 10.5" wide tire hence an 8" rim is needed when you air down so the bead is not lost. With the 8" rim you can go up to a 12.5" wide easy when you hit the 13.5" and up a bit the 10" is a must or wider.

But free is free and they "could be used" if you need to and save yourself a few bucks.

31's on a 10 in wide wheel would look "ricer". You could not air down if you were to go offroad with 31's & folks say even with 12.50 tires you can loose a bead fairly easy when at lower psi.

If you can't sell em, use em.

i use 33x12.50s on my 15x10s. I also ran those with a 3 inch lift for years. Works fine if you are OK with trimming and bumpstop accordingly.

Ditch the 10" rims and go with an 8" . If you air down its alot harder to keep the bead on with a 12.50 tire.
