Default Tire question

I have 31 x 10.5 x 15 tires on my 98 cherokee limited. What size is compatable in normal tire sizes, (like 255 65 15 and the likes ), that will fit these rims?

First off 265/70r16 may be a 31x10.5 tire but will not fit a 15" rim. The last number is rim size just in case you didn't know.

OP, if by "normal" you mean "metric" then the closest would be a 265/75r15, but those tires are not widely available. However most tire manufacturers still make a 31x10.5r15 so there is still a wide selection out there in that size. Any particular reason you want to switch to metric?

Here is a handy calculator when you have more questions like this:

I switched to metric for the simple reason of a treadwear warranty. Most companies dont' warranty the flotation sizes or Light Truck tires, but do the metric counterparts.
