Question Tire Decisions... Help?

Hello all, Ive been cruising around the forums for a while, but this is my first post. Right now i've got a 95 cherokee sport. I put a 3" rc lift on it with 31's and trimmed fenders. (Ill post pics soon.) Now its time for some new rubber. I was wondering if I go with 33's do i have to regear the tranny? (5 speed) Also I know 31's already fit, and if i go that route any suggestions? And one last question, does anyone have pics of a cherokee with the 3 inch lift and 30" mudders? (I was thinking maybe 30's for slightly better gas mileage) I know this is alot in one post, nevermind my 1st post, but I appreciate any input.

Thanks guys!

You would actually re-gear both front and rear differentials. Most will suggest this, especially if you drive on road a lot. Most of the manuals have 3.07 gearing, which is really going to struggle with turning 33" tires.

Also I know 31's already fit, and if i go that route any suggestions?

I would stick with the 31's when you get new tires. They fit well, look good, and offer a decent increase in ground clearance without much sacrifice of gas mileage. If you do more than 70% of your driving on the road, I would suggest a nice aggressive AT like the General grabbers or BFG AT's. If most of your time is off road or you don't put a lot of miles on your rig, then go with a good MT.

And one last question, does anyone have pics of a cherokee with the 3 inch lift and 30" mudders? (I was thinking maybe 30's for slightly better gas mileage) I know this is alot in one post, nevermind my 1st post, but I appreciate any input.

Thanks guys!

Check out my pics of my truck. I'm on 3" and 31 ATs.

Walmart had a special on some really nice Goodyear Wrangler Authority ATs that were really meaty and aggressive.

Thanks for the info. I'm planning on goin with 31's regardless but I was looking into 33's just for the he** of it. And my local wal mart isn't a super wal mart so there's no auto service center. But the quotes I got today were both about 700 out the door for a full set of 31's which is about normal but I wouldn't mind finding something a little cheaper.

Your rig looks great. Did you have to re gear anything for 32's? Is that only a 3" inch lift?

Ya I think ill stick to 31's. To regear is money that I just don't need to spend right now.

BFG MTs 30's.

Gas mileage isn't too bad, daily driver. Aggressive enough to get the job done. Nice clearance. The offset rims are the bomb.

I actually really like the look of the 30's. My jeeps my DD but I go wheelin on weekends, so I just need something aggressive enough for some mud while still getting decent gas mileage. How much were those?
