All depends on tire size and wheel size. I run 3psi in my 38s and bead holds up well. I ran 10-12 in my 33s and 35s all on an 8 inch wheel. I have broken beads with as much as 18psi on 33s but also run as low as 5psi with the same wheel and tire. Just drop a little see how it goes and experiment from there.

This is pretty interesting stuff, I have 33s and haven't really gotten to go play yet, was thinking 25psi would be the lowest I would wanna go... Marc, you did 3psi without beadlocks and didn't have issues?

I run 10 psi in my 34's and do a lot of rocks. No problem so far. The only thing I've noticed is it's easier to get sticks, mud, etc between the tire and rim, which can cause a slow leak. I've had that happen a couple of times, but both times I just let all the air out, and washed out the bead with a hose and aired back up and it was fine.
What do you have for tires? Mine are bias ply. They seem to be stiffer than radials at 10 psi.

I do 15 in my 33s(FS Destination mts) no issues, and down to 12psi some times too.It rides alot better off road too especially when your just riding rough roads at higher speeds to get to the more technical stuff. Not airing down beats the crap outta you and your rig somewhat.

i wouldn't go below 12psi with 33x12.5 on an 8 inch wide rim.
i have run this pressure many times on my other jeeps.
with my xj, i have bias 36x13.5 on 12 inch beadlocks and have run 1psi with great traction and very smooth ride. but i normally wheel it with 5psi for average difficult trails. but up here it's all roots and rocks.

It depends on how big your tires are and how wide your rims are. I run 31x10.50s and 8in wide wheels and air down to 15-20. Also depends on if your running bead locks and type of tire[bias or radial]. Bias can go down alot lower than radials.
3psi on any tire without bead locks would pop the bead unless you don't move it!

I suggest giving airing down a shot, once you do you'll be sold. I run 31-10.50 15's on 8" rims and I usually drop to about 18-20 for the rocks. It makes a huge difference. Better traction, softer ride on the trail for sure.
But airing down also drops your diff for more high centering on diff's.
