Time for tires. Suggestions?
Ok. I have a 3" lift, Jegs D Windows with 3" backspacing.
I currently have BFG A/T's.
Most of my driving is on pavement, back and forth to work, occasional hour long trips to visit my girlfriend every other weekend, etc... so I need a tire that is mostly intended for the road... but I want something that will also be suitable offroad.
I also want something that will last a good long time.
I'm thinking I should probably stick with the BFG's, but what about General Grabber AT2s? Any good? Better than BFG A/T?
I also don't want to get too ridiculous in size - I can't really spend TOO much money on tires, so I'm probably going to stick with 30" tires.

Hankook Dynapro ATm's I love them. They wear well, quiet on the road, as good offroad as the BFG's, great in the snow and ice etc. They're cheaper than the BFG's also.

I've heard a lot of good on the Goodyear Duratrac, no personal experience though. Lots of good experience with Bfg all terrain, good ol stand-by tire.

That cracked me up. Who really cares what KM2's look like, they are a solid performing tire. The OP wants a tire that is going to be seeing 95+% of it's life on the road so I would think mud terrains are NOT going to be the #1 choice in this case.

Everyone pretty much loves the tire they roll. So you will hear all types of opinions.
Loved my Dynapro's when I rolled them.
Love my Goodyear MT/R's now.
I don't think you can really go wrong with any Mud Terrain. GY, BFG, Hankook...
Just shop around and get the best deal you can.

Oh crap, I forgot! We should shouldn't buy tires for what we want to use them for or how they perform, we should buy them because they look cool!

I've had Grabber A/T2's on my '96 XJ for a couple months now. So far they seem to perform like the BFG A/T T/K KO's on our Dodge p/u. Right now the Grabber 2's are the best selling A/T tire in our area.

Honestly never really gave that a thought. Over the yrs I've tried to stick with a tread pattern similar to the Armstrong Tru Trac's because so far it's been the best pattern for the roads in our area and the weather conditions we drive in (especially ice). Of course they're history but there's still BFG,General, and Cepek (Fun Country) that I know of.
