if you understood how a gasoline injected, internal combustion engine operates, you would understand how adding a 1" aluminum spacer after the throttle body does nothing.

sure its cheap, sure you are happy with it, and sure you got 2mpg after installing one.

that's all great im glad you are happy with the purchase you have made.

the FACT is, its still an aluminum spacer located in an area that does nothing but add bling when you open the hood.

wanna buy a 1/2" aluminum valve cover spacer?

Lol all the throttle body space r does is make the air swirrle like the old tornado charges nobody bought. I have a poweraid tbs along with airoid intake. A stage 2 jet chip and 2.5 inch exhaust with a flowmaster. The only thing it had when i bought it was the exhause and got 10 mpg. With all that i have done still gets bout 10 mpg lol. As for the tbs all it did was make my intake have like a little whisle to it.

I have a brand new IRO spacer sitting here with mounting bolts and gaskets just waiting to never be put in. I won the stupid thing at their costumer appreciation day a few years ago and even they were joking about how they make good paper weights and not much else. And that is EXACTLY what it has become.

Fact of the matter is you DONT know what it did to my jeep or anyone elses. Like I said it may or may not have added horsepower but I know for a fact it gave me 2 more mpg's, how else would I go from 14 mpg 4 tanks in a row to 16-16.5 mpg's over 6 tanks in a row now driving the same exact routes the same exact ways. So dont act like you know for a fact that they dont do anything. Or keep on doin it FOREVER like we all know this could go on for.
All we are trying to do here is help you save some money. At the prices they charge it's criminal. It's all snake oil and some of us that have the education needed to understand how things work are trying to help.
But if after all that you still want to spend the money, then go ahead. It's yours, do with it what you want.
However a lot of the rest of us can use the $100 bucks on something use-full.

I don't claim to understand it, but Go-Jeep runs a TBS, and I generally trust his stuff.

Thats all fine and dandy but the way people go about it talking down to the guys that like them is stupid as hell. Mine was 35 bucks and I know its saved me that much in gas already, I never really bought it for an hp gain cuz frankly I doubted it would add any I got mine for more mpg's and its been well worth the purchase. So everyone can go on with this never ending "I know everything" war, im out.

Dmaxx I just have extensive proof, that most don't work. Now the spacers do work on carb'd or TBI setups

Knock it off children. Let the man enjoy it. I plan to get one when I get a new intake. I don't care if it improves performance or not. If anything it'll look good under the hood. And if there were such thing as a valve cover spacer and it wouldn't hurt me, I'd get that too. Cause I like to have color underneath my hood

There really is a valve cover spacer. It's for when you need the height for the rollor rockers.

Why not just get your throttle body bored out and then get it anodized?
At least then your bling would actually be doing something for you.

Now this is true. Albeit marginal results. And those work because they add more volume to the intake runners where air and fuel mix and allow the fuel to be farther away from the hot engine in a carb. I have seen people stack 1" carb spacers (usually a spreadbore adapter 1" with a 1" squarbore carb spacer atop it) and claim it made quite a bit of difference. But then again I think they would have to be polished to match.

At any time I would expect a moderator to close this thread because it is going nowhere really fast! I think there is one who is posting here (hint)

There isn't anything against forum rules here.

And the discussion is still on the topic of throttle body spacers and their uselessness on the 4.0 Jeep motor.

I see no reason to close the thread.
