I just ordered the teraflex high steer knuckle and need to set up a drag link and tie rod. I have spent hours researching diff set up and I am a little concerned about flipping the drag link OTK. Looks like it is a tight fit on sum set ups. I have some sort of black steel wheels 15" with 2" spacers and 35" tires. I know they make a low profile tre but I wonder how much smaller is this than a standard end or 1 ton. I want to go with the offset tie rod from ruff stuff and they are 1 ton and would like to see if I can go 1 ton all the way around. Does anyone know about the clearance on this knuckle. Thanx

Did you ever find an answer to your question?

I have the teraflex high steer set up with their HD aluminum drag link and tie rod on my XJ and the tie rod hits the diff cover. I just ordered the offset tie rod kit as I'm planning on adding hydro assist steering and needed to be able to weld a tab on the tie rod. Anyways, I was hoping there would be enough clearance too as I'm planning on running OTK.

I wasn't able to get much info about this but I found a set of wj knuckles so I decided to go that rout instead. I was able to cancel my order on the teraflex. I know it depends on the wheels you are running and if your using spacers or not. Every pic I have seen looked to be a close fit thoe. Good luck hope it works out for you. Looks like a good kit.

How much lift are you running. You may be able to just flip the tie rod and leave the drag link. I think they said your wheels need like 5" back spacing. I think that was it but I'm not sure. It was on a thread I found by googling teraflex high steer flip.

5.5" lift, not sure on the backspacing the wheels were on it when I bought it

I would think with 5.5 lift you should be able to keep the drag link utk and just flip the tie rod to get it out of the way. Is your track bar OTA. As long as they are parallel you should be fine. If you have clearance issues you may want to keep the drag link the way it is and drop the pitman arm a little to get your angles right.

The track bar and drag link angles are all f'd up right now, I have a bad case of bump steer. I have the ruffstuff panhard bar kit waiting to go on just haven't had a chance to mock it up and burn it in.

Oh yea, btw I think we are talking about 2 different clearance problems. I'm worried about the clearance between the offset tre and the wheel.

O ok I thought you were going OTK with the drag link and are worried about the tre hitting the tire. I see. I think you gain about a 1/2 inch by using the offset ends and by flipping it you gain quite a bit of clearance from the diff cover. Sorry we were talking about two diff things. Hope it works out for you.

Haha, it's cool. I was thinking of going otk with the drag link too so it's good information. I just assumed there would be enough room, definitely something to look into before I do it and set up my panhard bar to match. That would suck to get it all burned in only to not be able to put the tire and wheel back on haha.
