The mega-short SYE is primarily used by the TJ crowd.

I'm older, wiser, better looking....and I don't own that other company.

I'm supporting my fellow XJ drivers too.

The one at the back drives the speedometer. The little switch up at the front is just for the PART TIME light on the dash.

on a regular SYE you are simply re-using your OEM Variable Speed Sensor (VSS). That's where your speedo get's it's signal from.

On the Mega-Short kits a tone ring is included and a new sensor (Hall Effect Sensor). There simply isn't room under the short tailcone for an OEM gear and VSS.

HTH.
