I have a 99 XJ with AX15 and NP231. SYE kit is installed in the transfercase as of tonight but i'm unsure what driveshaft I need.

Does the ax15/np231 combo still utilize a front driveshaft from an automatic XJ, or do I need a front DS from a 5 speed XJ??

Do I need a specific year or are they all the same??

Get a front driveshaft then Measure the distance of from the center of the yokes on the Tcase to axle, Take that number and write it down take the drive shaft to a driveline shop and have them cut it down or extend it to meet your measurement

 

Definitely not one from the front of an ax-15 equipped XJ. Just as the rear shaft in an ax-15 install is longer than one from an auto, the front is shorter (much too short).

If you search, you should find a table of front drive shaft lengths. IIRC, you will need one from a specific grand.
