so I got to 231 transfer case with sye of Craigslist for 200 bucks. Thought I was getting an awesome deal now I'm worried. The flange nut is leaking fluid. I didn't notice it till I tipped the transfer case. I was going to put the T case in but now I don't know what to do.....
do you think the nut just needs to be tightened?, I've never dealt with a slip yoke eliminator before.
should I pull it apart ( take the nut off )and look for some kind of broken seal?

There is supposed to be a round rubber "gasket" that goes in behind the nut. If missing take nut off clean with brake clean squirt a good amount of silicone and tighten back down. Simple fix

I tightened the nut and it stopped leaking but that's good to know. I was afraid to take the nut off and get myself any deeper in. If it leaks again I will just RTV it
thank you !
